Library Exhibitions Review (LER)

About LER

Library Exhibitions Review is the newest initiative by the ARLIS/NA Exhibitions Special Interest Group. This new journal provides an open and accessible virtual platform dedicated to preserving and archiving exhibitions in both physical and digital formats.  Our inaugural issue was published in Spring 2023.

Recognizing that exhibitions and displays are integral to library services, and building on the publication of its ARLIS/NA Best Practices for Library Exhibitions in 2021, ARLIS/NA launched the Library Exhibitions Review (LER) to promote these best practices, enhance the visibility of library exhibitions, and provide professional development opportunities for library and information professionals through critical reflections of each other’s work.

Library Exhibitions Review publishes one online issue each year, with additional issues if there is interest. To encourage dialogue across the academic community, we welcome suggestions for items to review, special columns, or themed issues on topics related to library exhibition ethics and philosophy.
